“Wei Lin” Volunteer Team from School of English Studies Went to Thailand to Do Volunteer Service

 

During the winter vacation, “Wei Lin” Volunteer Team from School of English Studies organized a 9-person international volunteer team, and conducted volunteer service activities in mountain village primary schools in Chiang Mai of Thailand.

 

From the perspective of the traditional Chinese martial arts, crafts, Chinese folk songs and Peking Opera, these volunteers introduced traditional Chinese culture into English teaching by means of painting, hands-on experience, singing, etc, according to the different grades of students. The headmaster of the school are also attracted to their class, and praised that the volunteers are Chinese superstars in Thailand. The headmaster said that listen to their class is a kind of enjoyment, and sincerely thanked the selfless dedication of these volunteers.

 

"In everyone's life there are some parts that everyone wants to cherish and are unwilling to discard, and this volunteer service will become one of the most memorable trip in my life. This trip engraved the children’s funny call of 'elephant' to me, their paintings in class, and the teacher’s grateful look with their hands clasped in my memory.” A volunteer said.
